Lily Beach Resort & Spa, Maldives, rang in the new year with a fabulous celebration! New Year’s Eve started off with a gala dinner buffet at Lily Maa Restaurant, where an incredible festive buffet was spoiling our guests’ senses. Executive Chef and his team whipped up a rich range of mouthwatering dishes to make the last dinner of 2016 special in many ways. In addition to luscious items, such as fresh seafood, prime meat cuts at the various carving stations and oh-so-good desserts, the buffet was extraordinary also for the innovative ice and bread sculptures and fruit and vegetables carvings that added to the exclusivity of the event.
After dinner the celebration moved to Vibes Bar, where guests got to enjoy New Year’s Eve vibes in a lively atmosphere, contributing to which was a DJ’s performance.
Shorty before midnight we gathered on the beach for the final countdown and traditionally burnt the ‘2016’ display, bid farewell to everything that the year had brought, raised our glasses to 2017 and admired a spectacular fireworks show about the island.
To kick off the new year as befits such a culinary haven, guests woke up to a sumptuous breakfast buffet that – with so much choice and a lot of time to simply enjoy New Year’s day – lasted well into the afternoon hours.
