Lily Beach Resort & Spa offers a style of yoga that is both dynamic and passive- a perfect balance of Yin and Yang practices. Whether it is the foundations, classic postures, alignment, pranayama (breathing techniques), or meditation, there is something for everyone. Our variety of poses and sequences creates a harmonious union between the body, mind, and soul.
All ability levels of yoga students are welcome, and modifications can be made as needed.
Each class is tailored to the needs of every participant, whether it is your first time or you are an advanced practitioner. Beginners will take their first steps in a nurturing and safe environment to begin their yoga journey; the more advanced will maintain and deepen their practice during their stay at Lily.
Attendance in all yoga sessions is by appointment only, due to the limited space available (maximum of 10 participants).
The morning sessions take care of the Yang side of yoga practices, with Hatha and Vinyasa classes offered daily. They are typically more dynamic and energetic, working to build flexibilty, mobility, strength, stamina, and balance. Yang poses are guaranteed to wake up the body and mind- join our sunrise classes for the perfect way to start a morning on vacation.
The Yin aspect is covered in the evening when classes are more rejuvenating and relaxing. Take time to cool down as you turn inward and reflect on your day at the beach. Usually, postures are held longer, specifically focusing on connective tissues and joints to improve flexibility and mobility. Reduce stress and tension as you listen to the ocean waves and attune to the flow of energy throughout your body.
Each yoga class at Lily Beach ends with a short guided meditation session. For those seeking a deeper understanding of the consciousness, special Yoga Nidra and various styles of mediations (stress relief, chakra based, and visualizations) are offered. Learning the art of meditation provides the opportunity to experience the deep silence that rests within your soul, and allows you to reconnect with your inner wisdom and true, authentic self.
At Lily Beach Resort & Spa, you have the opportunity daily to further deepen your practice and understanding of yoga with a private session. Book a time with our expert yoga instructor to learn more about specific areas such as pranayama, yoga philosophy, and meditation. Are you working on a particular pose that has been giving you trouble? Is there a specific goal you have been working toward? Do you have questions about special circumstances or suitable practices tailored to you? A private lesson could be just the experience you need, available daily in 60 to 90 minute blocks.
The Group classes are mainly held at Tamara Spa outdoor lounge or the new Lily Beach Yoga Pavilion at Vibes Beach. However, at times AQVA beach is also used.
